Why Virtualise
The advantages of having a server running within a virtual environment are immense.
The advantages of having a server running within a virtual environment are immense.
In a disaster recovery situation with a traditional server, If the server fails you need to get a backup copy of your data. You then need to rebuild your entire server and then load your data.
With a virtual server within the VMware environment, the windows server version is no longer an operating system. It instead becomes a file which is played through VMware.
So if the host server fails. You just load a copy of this file onto another sever, which has VM player installed and you are back up and running.
With VServer this relocating of a virtual server to a new host in the event of a hardware failure is handled by VServer entirely so you see no interruption in your service.
